Vans, the original youth culture brand and icon of creative expression, announces the return of its global music series, Sidestripe Sessions, an eclectic celebration of collaboration, diversity, and expression through music and art. Season three of Vans Sidestripe Sessions is now available to watch on the Vans YouTube channel.
The two-song sessions feature performances from Vans’ extended family of musicians along with a backdrop of original art installations from rising artists. Filmed at Vans Global Headquarters in Costa Mesa, California, the third season of Sidestripe Sessions will offer 10 new episodes with a brand-new look and feel, immersing viewers into Vans’ giant shoebox with dynamic art installations and animated graphics.
The season comes to life with performances from unique acts like Los Angeles based, by way of Brooklyn, shoegaze indie-rock band, DIIV, and Southern California’s art-punk duo, The Garden . DIIV perform songs “Horsehead” and “Blankenship” from their latest album, Deceiver, accompanied by an art installation by drummer, Ben Newman, who also created back cover and label paintings for the band’s 2019 release. DIIV songwriter and vocalist Zachary Cole Smith described Deceiver as “the soundtrack to personal resurrection,” capturing attention from critics like Paste Magazine, which called the album the group’s “darkest sound yet” but also its “most earnest.” Upcoming episodes are set to feature The Garden, CHIKA, Tank and the Bangas, and Ceremony with unique art installations paired to each performance.
New episodes of Vans Sidestripe Sessions will premiere on a bi-weekly basis beginning April 6. Don’t miss season two performances by CANDY, Anderson .Paak, Cherry Glazerr, Channel Tres and more! To get more information and subscribe to Sidestripe Sessions, please visit Vans YouTube Channel .
